Developing Toronto

This painting depicts the skyline and waterfront of Toronto. It symbolically locates Lake Ontario in the foreground. A silver line (the Don Valley/Gardiner Expressway) runs from the top right to the front and then left of the painting. It suggests the dynamic growth of Toronto.

A suggestion of a map of Toronto is in the background, again it relates to growth and development. The painting in the background area will act as a textured membrane of Toronto and subtly focusing on the green spaces and some particular sections of the city.

The internal framing of the painting is a direct quote to the architectural drawings of Frank Lloyd Wright, and compliments the architectural qualities of the architectural drawings in your building.

While the Inuit tapestry speaks to its own time and place it is my hope that our painting will speak to the Toronto of today.
